Career Practitioner Certificate (CPC)
-Building Leadership in Career Development Services
A PDF of the brochure is available.
The field of career development is evolving and expanding today as never before. The demands of a rapidly changing economy make it imperative for practitioners to keep pace with new models for the practice of career development. Certificate programs in career development have been offered in some parts of Canada since 1987, but in Nova Scotia short workshops and imported training have more often been the norm. In 2006, a group of practitioners approached the College of Continuing Education to see if a certificate program could be offered through that institution.
The Dalhousie University Career Practitioner Certificate program is the result of extensive collaboration with industry professionals. It is designed to provide an opportunity for both new and experienced practitioners to gain a recognized credential while deepening their knowledge, skill and confidence in delivering and managing effective employment services for a wide range of clients.
