Advanced Certificate in Fire Service Administration

Academic requirements to obtain CFSA (Advanced).

The development of bachelor’s degrees in fire management and the agreements between the schools that offer these degrees and Dalhousie University suggest that more courses be delivered. Secondly some students who obtain the Certificate in Fire Service Administration in human resources management or operational planning may wish to obtain specialization in strategic planning once they are part of an organizational strategic planning process at a late date in their careers.

Consequently this Advanced Certificate in Fire Service Administration has been developed. It allows students to pursue more study, permitting a greater mastery of the specialization and allowing for greater advanced standing for those students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in fire service administration. To obtain the Advanced Certificate students successfully complete three additional courses, two of which must be relevant to an area of specialization hitherto not yet studied by the student.
