New Administration Courses

We are introducing two new courses which will be part of our Certificate in Fire Service Administration (CFSA) program. These courses can be taken as electives for the general CFSA or as electives for the operational planning concentration. These courses are geared toward middle to top level management personnel.

Theoretical Foundations of Fire Protection Planning I
This course begins by introducing how operations research enables the fire department to act as a high reliability organization. The course continues to explore fire productivity, and it ends by introducing the student to the task of criticizing research articles.

Theoretical Foundations of Fire Protection Planning II
This course expands on its prerequisite (Theoretical Foundations of Fire Protection Planning I) by providing the student with the experience of researching an aspect of fire service delivery, reporting on that research to other students, the instructors, and the student’s fire department.
