Negotiation and Conflict Management Certificate Program

The Certificate in Negotiation and Conflict Management will be awarded by Dalhousie University College of Continuing Education. It requires the successful completion of two (36-hour) one semester courses (Personal Practice Foundations and Resolving Complex Problems) and an individually-scheduled skills assessment or practicum component. The courses can be taken in any order.

The features of the NCMP Certificate Program include:

  • Opportunities to develop personal awareness, interpersonal communication skills and a reflective, continuous learning orientation
  • Focus on negotiation and communication in the context of complex multi-stakeholder community, national and global issues
  • An opportunity to take the courses for degree credit electives at a fourth year or graduate level
  • The opportunity to learn in the context of a community of practice people committed to new ways of working in the world.

Transferable Credits

With the permission of the Director, participants may be able to count one equivalent course completed at another institution as one of the two courses.

Time Limits

There is a three year time limit for the completion of the two courses and the Skills Assessment.
