The Canadian Risk Management (CRM) program is comprised of three comprehensive management courses in the fast-growing, exciting discipline of risk management. Risk management is the ability to analyze, communicate, recommend problem solving techniques and monitor the exposure of unexpected losses. The three courses focus on the identification and assessment of exposures to loss, strategies for controlling identified losses and a review of techniques for financing the payment of those losses which do occur.
The Canadian Risk Management Program (CRM) designation is awarded to students as an acknowledgement of the successful completion of the three courses. It is issued by the Global Risk Management Institute, Inc. and recognized by the Risk & Insurance Management Society, Inc., and the Insurance Institute of Canada.

The Insurance Institute of Canada
The completion of the CRM program may provide three credits in the Original Track Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional Program (FCIP).
A student is entitled to a maximum of six advanced standing credits, three of which may come from the completion of the CRM program in combination with university credit courses (especially in business) or other advanced standing credits. In the case where the student already has the maximum six credits from university or other advanced standing credits, the CRM program credits would not be applied.
Please Note: Those who wish to pursue FCIP designation and want to have the CRM courses acknowledged as credits must register with the FCIP program
prior to beginning their CRM program or credit will not be applied. Students are strongly advised to contact IIC for further information on the FCIP program at
www.insuranceinstitute.ca.
